You’re giving Think Progress and Media Matters far too much credit for this movement. There are others that led the charge including many people we’ve never heard of and efforts outside of the internet. In any case that’s the way the came is played and I really don’t think that a one sided truce would help the Democrats because that’s what would happen — a one sided truce because considering the veracity of Republican funded groups including the Tea Party, Heritage, etc.

Of course any truce would be one sided. Republicans have their own fear and hate fueled activist machine. Both sides put a lot of effort into viral marketing campaigns to get us to hate and fear our fellow Americans.
