Why leave? He has clothes to wear, food, and a bed to sleep on. Plus I’m sure he still gets fan letters and people that want to visit him to say they did. It’s not in his interest to leave prison.

There’s been interviews with Manson where he’s said - paraphrasing - that he really doesn’t know quite what to do with himself in the outside world. He’s been in prison so long, he likely doesn’t know how to adjust to freedom. He’d been in and out of the correctional system long before he started up his wackadoodle “Family” up at the Spanh Movie Ranch.
