The thing about Greece having its own currency is that it would force people to spend money in Greece - because, really, who, outside of Greece, is going to accept a new Greek currency that will likely rise in numbers equal to the Lira?

I was in Greece just before the Euro started. Drachmas were as bad as Lira back then. Also, as far as places I’d like to see again, it ranks pretty low - yeah, ancient ruins and shit, but even the Marriott sucked and the city (Athens) itself was filthy once you stepped outside the museums.
