In the event that it became public knowledge that Trump was president due to Russia hacking (i.e. vote tallies altered), the most likely “compromise” would be to demand his immediate resignation. Because the GOP would still fight against impeachment by arguing that he was totally in the dark about Russian efforts to change votes.

And do you really think trump would resign - given that the GOP are unwilling to impeach?
“Fake News” would reach a crescendo.
