Israel has spent years building fences around parts of its border, and it still has to worry about infiltration by armed terrorists.

They’ve built tunnels that went undetected.

They’ve fired rockets and missiles into Israel that were undetected.

All the technology in the world wont keep out a persistent threat. Manpower wont keep them out either. Israel has far less territory and wall to defend, and even then they have issues. They also know that the wall isn’t the only answer.

Trump’s only answer is a wall, and it doesn’t address the bulk of the issues he claims:

1) it doesn’t address drug trafficking, when drugs come in via mail from China (fentanyl)
2) it doesn’t stop anyone who overstays their visas (and that’s the majority of the people here illegally).
3) it wont stop anyone from climbing over with ropes or ladders.

Trump loves to claim that he’s built so much wall, except every analysis reveals he’s built precisely ZERO miles of new wall. There’s a possibility he can start building new wall at some point this year based on existing appropriations, but the miles aren’t changing. He’s only modified a few scant miles of existing fence.
