BTW, this is yet another example of how stupid Trump is - he insists on bilateral trade negotiations, because he thinks it gives him the whiphand, but there’s no reason why trading blocs can’t cut deals with each other that are better than we get, and also no reason why our trading partners shouldn’t just tell us to deal with the bloc, or go pound sand.
