All of the top schools were very hard to get into this past year, or so the parent gossip goes.
I know of only 1 kid who got a full ride based on merit and economic hardship.

There was a news story about that a while back. All of last year’s high school graduates took a gap year because of the pandemic, so there were two classes competing this fall, thus twice the competition.
