Yeah, I can’t help being reminded of someone who satirised it by creating an “All-Spin Zone”. Maybe Colbert?

It is kind of the car alarm of discourse. If someone feels the need to reassure you that they’re not lying, it’s the equivalent of an alarm going off saying “Warning. Door may not be completely shut.”
