I’ll have to check it out. I confess to not knowing much about Truman. Then again, I didn’t know much about Adams until I read McCollough’s book.
You’ll like it I think. He’s sympathetic to Truman but not to the point where he’s slobbering. He as you know is a very much take the good with the bad type historian but does usually have a positive pov of those he writes biographies of. Most of my presidential biography reading is 20th century: I’ve read Truman, H.W Brands’ Traitor To His Class, and one on Wilson too. And I have read numerous Nixon books due to my research project. a couple years back.
