OT (Attention political history geeks):
The very first chapter, about the King-Crane Commission, was something I’d never heard of before, so I’ve learned something already. I’m only on page 14 and have already found this part more than a little depressing:

I think I’ve read about those guys before. It’s also amazing how many American businessmen had interests in the middle east, even back then. Lloyd George and Clemenceau made an incredible mess out of Versailles. Did you know the he (Lloyd George) offered Armenia to the US as an American mandate?
