I can understand the Castle Doctrine and it makes some sense, but extending it to everywhere doesn’t - which is what SYG and this bill propose to do. When everyone has guns, no one is truly safe. Just witness all the shootings involving supposedly good guys with guns (self-inflicted, accidental, etc.) along with the suicides and homicides that total more than 30,000 a year.

In fact, gun deaths are close to exceeding the number of vehicular deaths in the US.

Their role in Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) is particularly disturbing to me. I was raised with guns in the house and NEVER feared they would be used against the family.

The fact is that an alarming number of people can’t trust their own family members with guns.
