The judges.
The judges are bad and burrowed in. This part of the struggle they’ve already partially won. I don’t know how we stop it for the next year or so.

People asked upthread about actually defining HRC’s “flaws”, but to me, it goes so much deeper than that - the perception that establishment Dems give in/won’t fight, while GOPers get away with whatever the hell they want. Or, as one friend of mine put it:

“Wealthy corporate donors support strong Republicans and weak Democrats.”

That kind of discouragement and disillusionment is what (along with gerrymandering and outright suppression) drives down numbers among Dem voters. And I must confess, one of the thoughts that kept going through my mind as I read Feinstein’s statement was, “Well that’s just great - why did you let the GOPers get away with that slimy little blue-slip trick for so long, knowing what their end game was? It’s nice that you’re pointing out their dickbaggery now, but what are you actually going to DO about it? And if there’s nothing you can do about it, why didn’t all of you, last year, call out the GOP’s obstruction sooner, when you had the bully pulpit of the Dem convention? Why did you act as if the GOP was civilized and redeemable, when clearly it’s anything but?”

I realize Dems face a lazy, feckless, or outright malevolent media…but they can, at the very least, avoid direct messaging that demotivates their base.
