Christ, Vegas and the recent Walmart shooting in Thornton, CO should also kill the zombie myth of the good guy with a gun. In the latter, several people were armed at the Walmart and were able to do fuck all about the shooting. They did, however, manage to slow down law enforcement as they had to clear every asshole that pulled their gun out in the store.

I seem to recall in Tucson when Giffords was shot at. There was a CCW on site who considered raising his gun but changed his mind because he knew it would make the situation which was already hectic for LEO even worse.
