This time, I think not: The Orange Anus likes nothing more than to look like The Great Hero Statesman: the WH has got to know that most people in the country (despite the GOP’s frantic messaging) have thought of this as The Trump Shutdown: I think he’s more likely to want to “look good” here: issue congratulations all around (and, doubtless, a hefty helping of self-congratulations for himself), sign whatever they send up, go golfing, and set up another shitshow for Feb. 8th: probably around “Building The Wall”
