My problem with Objectivists and other empathy free people is that I can’t imagine liking someone like that. How can they stand each other? How can they stand themselves? Why would you want to be in the company of heartless creeps?

i think it’s not so much that they are necessarily empathy-free, but that they are cranks in the thrall of a philosophy of selfishness
