Russian equipment was designed for a minimally traned conscript army. I would imagine that anybody on this forum could fire an SA-11 with a few hours instruction and hands on tinkering.

True, but I still think it would be more involved than pressing a button and if it was “seperatists” who fired the missile there’s little doubt that training was provided by the Russian military.
