and as i said above their method is to first strangle receipts (lower taxes). they think that inevitably must lead to slashing budgets. after thats done when there isnt enough money left to pay for even the meager parts of govt they want, up go the deficits, which all of a sudden dont matter.

its not economic policy
its not monetary policy
its mostly short-sighted more for me policy. the long term posterity be damned

It’s what happens when your political/economic philosophy starts from a conclusion and works backwards to justify that conclusion, rather than starting from what you want society to look like and figuring out how to make that work.
