Arguably it is already too late and that we’re simply going through the motions of the Code Blue crash cart team to the corpse of the 1st Republic.

The real question is will there be a coup by those who want to establish a 2nd Republic now or if the coup will come from the right and create the kind of neo-feudal corporate based kingdom out of Cyberpunk SF? After which the question is how long the interregnum be? A generation? A century? Permanent?

At this point, these are just thoughts and hopefully all wrong. Today’s results and how they’re responded to by both sides will tell the real tale.
