The problem here is that Trump can’t be unique in his ability to focus the GOP’s fascist urges into a corrupternment — every GOP politician out there thinking of the presidency is studying Trump’s filthy winning formula very carefully.

The bigger problem for the GOP, though, is that an impeached-and-removed-in-disgrace Trump Is going to cast a long and withering shadow over the Party for quite a while. Donald Trump as a candidate was pretty sui generis, , and it’s probably unlikely that the next wannabe-Fuhrer is going to be able to work the same shtick as Trump (If nothing else than the “I’m a businessman, not a politician wheeze). Not to mention that the hardcore Deplorables are going to be pining for their Great Orange King till they croak from old age, and no one else is ever going to measure up….
