In a way, the Delta variant is a boon to those of us who are vaccinated. Because it is so contagious, it is crowding out other variants that might be more vaccine resistant. Dog help us if Delta remains extremely contagious, and also evolves vaccine resistance. But I assume researchers are diligently working to update vaccines, like they do with the flu vaccine every year.

There was a comment over at Sorry Antivaxxer on the Laura Loomer post (she’s not dead) about a purely utilitarian view of antivaxxers and SARS-CoV-2.

That person expressed the viewpoint that like so many other sceptics, such as climate change denial, evolution denial, even tobacco denial, they pretty much all map to the same people (conservatives).

The difference is that Covid-19, unlike the others, has the potential to wipe them out. That would clear the path to dealing with other subjects they simply stand against.
