Well, the billions spent on road construction in the stimulus package haven’t created any jobs. They were never going to create jobs in any appreciable number to offset the millions of jobs lost elsewhere in the economy. Unemployment rates were unaffected by the increased spending on road construction work. So, while the road work was necessary to improve infrastructure, it didn’t fulfill the Administration’s goals of reducing unemployment.

Meanwhile, the NYT is pushing Colorado as some kind of example for health care claiming that they crave health care reform. Of particular note is the claim that 1/6 of Colorado residents don’t have insurance, despite the state being a model for all kind of health care programs to cut costs.

Curious. Very curious. The national average for those lacking health insurance is 15%. Indeed, Gallup polls routinely find anywhere from 10-15% of respondents self identifying as not having insurance. That means that Colorado is below the national average (1/6 is 16.6%). Why is Colorado below the national average?
