BBC Radio reporter a minute ago, reporting on role of minority parties in the upcoming elections: “I’m reporting from Sandwich, Kent. Yes, a sandwich is not just a snack, but an actual place.”

Maybe I need to get out more, but I’ve never heard a sandwich described as a snack. For all of my life it’s often been dinner.

Maybe he was referring to those little delicacies, watercress sandwiches.
