Property is a burden that has to appreciated. I don’t own where I live now, but I have before, and I was overwhelmed by work involved.
So I speak from experience.
You were fortunate to have a parent who prepared you for tackling the “American Dream”.
I look around here and I see overpriced poorly-built houses on land that is much more valued than the shacks built on them. And by “shacks” I mean places around here that are still appraised at over $500k.
