But the hesitancy shouldn’t prevent the action from going forward. Otherwise it means impeachment doesn’t exist so long as you have someone willing to be a blowhard and make bogus claims all the while about being exonerated all while having committed the crimes for which he is accused.

Again, all we have is Nancy and the leadership offering excuses for why they can’t take action. They really are gambling on the voters deciding that, no matter how good things may be going, Trump’s crimes are so heinous that he needs to be voted out of office. This was not a winning strategy in ‘04 and it’s not one now. If the leadership feels he’s committed crimes, they need to impeach him and make their best case. If they don’t, then they need to drop the matter.
