That and people try really goddamned hard to forget that when it’s their baby or grandchild, and they’re around other parents. They suppress their feelings & desperately try not to say the unspeakable truth, that babies are horrible, greedy little shit monsters made of mostly refined id.

How awful is that? People want to think babies are all sweet ‘n shit, but that actually makes no sense. They’re totally uncivilized raw humanity, that haven’t developed any of the learning, grace or higher order thinking we all tend to take for granted.

I mean yeah, they’re kind of necessary, I get that. But I think Vigeland pretty much captured how we all, deep down, tend to feel about them … at least sometimes.
