Why yes, the conference I was sent to was held then because hotels were cheap then.

on a serious level, there was an aquarium that was my favorite tourist stop.

That aquarium is awesome! Audubon Zoo is also pretty excellent. A worker there told me it’s one of the top 3 in the country, along with Bronx and San Diego. I’ve been lucky enough to get to all three.

(You guys have got me geeking on NOLA now.)
