It’s a very threatening package when looked at overall. They don’t drop bombs in a fight with Iran, it will be long ranged missiles, coordinated with the other air forces in the region, the same planes that fly in the SAM zones and take them out, before or with the Wild Weasels. Those are F-18, coming with the carrier strike group. Put together these moves are a massive can of whoop ass that is going for all the wrong reasons.

It’s still an empty threat without there being some sort of point to such a strike. Without a provocation of some sort, a strike on Iran would be quite obviously a campaign stunt, something ordered by Trump in an effort to take pressure off him domestically. There’s no “imminent threat” to the US proper or our interests. None of our allies are asking for armed intervention to hostile actions by Iran. And the UN has not taken any action that justifies armed force. In short, we’d be bloodying Iran’s nose for no other reason than because we can.
