I’m very much in favor of mocking religions but even I’m not comfortable with the reaction to the whole Tebow thing. Atheists tend to go too far with the visceral reaction to any public displays of faith. I think it betrays an intellectual insecurity and seems to be an attempt to drive all displays of religious faith underground and behind closed doors. Tebow doesn’t bother me at all but I don’t watch football.

I have no problem with someone feeling that they gain self confidence or comfort from their belief, whatever I may think of the specifics of the belief, but there’s a phrase “wearing your religion on your sleeve”.

Does Tebow think God can’t read his mind?

He does his act because he wants people to see him do it, not because he wants to be sure God hears him.
