It doesn’t really hurt, but it just pushes the problem farther away. If you’re comfortable paying any unskilled workers at below-poverty-level wages, then do you also feel that we need as taxpayers to support those people? Because right now people can work full time and not make a liveable wage. That’s a problem.

In addition, the skilled or unskilled nature of a job isn’t directly related to its profability; unskilled workers can still make significant profits for their employers.
