No, he did not misspeak. He said:

I went back and listened to the clip and his precise wording was

“…the temperature on Mars is exactly as it is here ….”

He may have simply left out the word ‘changing’ after ‘Mars is’. He is not currently insisting that the temperatures are the same on the two planets so I think it is fair to call it a misstatement.

He is still a fool, but I like my side to fight fair———and again, it is more important to counter the argument he says he is making than to insist on only making fun of a glaring flub.
