Of all the things to worry about regarding Brexit, that Brits may be eating American chickens which have been sterilized with chlorine:

Acid Bath Chicken: could the UK face a flock of foreign food post-Brexit?

The headline uses the scare-phrase “acid bath”, when all that is happening is that the chickens are washed in what is essentially equivalent to chlorine bleach.

Now sure, animal welfare folk may have a valid point in that American poultry companies are cruel to birds, but that isn’t what is being used to scare the public. It’s “acid bath”, which I’m not sure is even correct being as a solution may actually be basic depending on exactly what is in it.
