Mississippi resident here. Unfortunately you can’t blame this one entirely on Trump. What happened is spillways along the Mississippi river had to be opened to send water downriver and prevent flooding. All that freshwater pouring into the Gulf fucks up the salinity, which makes it easier for bacteria to grow.

It’s playing hell with the local seafood industry too.
