re: #9 Obdicut

Man, how many of my ‘fiscally-conservative’ friends who voted GOP reassured me over and over there was no real attempt to roll back abortions rights, that it was just playing to the dumb masses?

Way too many people fell for that bullshit. All of them, interestingly, men. The women I knew in the GOP either favored restriction of abortion and were happy with what they saw as a clear GOP agenda to restrict abortion, or women who saw that this was a problem for the GOP but thought reform was possible.

So good going, guys, your self-blinding sure came out great for the women of America. But hey, no real skin off your backs.

GOP “moderate”: “They’re promoting jobs! And the economy! They know what America needs!”
Me: “And what of their calls for restrictions on abortion? And their talk against evolution, against science in general?”
GOP “moderate”: “That’s just for the rubes, nobody believes it! These guys are serious about getting America’s financial house in order!”

So many lemmings, so little time.
