1968? The DNC in 1968? That didn’t rate in yesterday’s attempt to catalog all the excuses for Newtown that the right has proffered other than the blindingly obvious abundance and availability of firearms. Damn. We should have seen that one coming.

We’d just have to ignore that there’s so many mass murders that occurred before 1968 though. Guess without the Internet we didn’t have this much hand wringing in public as we do now.

Come to think of it, shouldn’t the Internet be the main reason why we have these mass murders?

Oddly (or perhaps not so odd considering), all but two of the school massacres and a majority of the massacres perpetrated by rampage killers around the world ended with the shooters committing suicide - not in shootouts with police or other bystanders.
