‘afternoon, Lizards.

So the fiancee and I went out in the not-too-heavy snow yesterday evening in Brooklyn and picked up a Christmas tree and carried it home. Call me corny, but it was a special moment, especially with the snow falling. And I’m an atheist who hates the crass commercialism and would rather be deaf than hear something like Taylor Swift singing “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”.

And to answer you questions, no, celebrating Christmas doesn’t bother me as an atheist. It’s a pagan winter celebration with Jesus shoe-horned in anyway. And one of the few places where you actually get a dose of Jesus is with church hymns like “O Come All Ye Faithful”, and I love those.

I HATE HATE HATE HATE the “Christmas” music. HATE IT.
