You and me both. I only got through half of book 3, IIRC. One of my kids was reading the series, and lent me the books.

I think to wash the taste out of my mouth, a nice reread of the Vorkosigan series by Bujold is in order. She’s a far more talented writer and those books have a real wealth hidden in them.
