If you watch enough Korean or Japanese dramas you will see where your personal seal is needed for legal documents. Or if you read the Vorkosegan books where it deals with seals and blood used as the agent. And of course the period films where you see them write with a quill pen and then scatter sand on it to soak up excess ink. And then use melted wax and a seal.
