I think it’s crazy that the adviser’s sexuality was even made an issue. I mean for fuck sakes this is 2012. I have straight, gay, bi, etc friends. If Romney wants to have a gay man advising him on foreign policy, he should be able to without a bunch of neanderthals flipping out. I swear these people are like children when it comes to homosexuality and maybe even more immature honest.

You’re right—they are worse than children. Most kids old enough to understand human sexuality don’t have a problem with homosexuality. It’s the older folks (Fischer and his followers, for example) who still can’t get over the fact that the pee-pee goes in the “wrong hole” if you’re gay.

And on that issue, fully one-third of gay couples don’t even practice anal intercourse, while about one-third of straight couples do. So the whole ick factor that motivates much of the virulent homophobia is a misinformed figment of the religious extremists’ imagination, be they Christian, Muslim, whatever.
