i am a fan of words and word games
i do crosswords fanatically
i love the pun and other word play

and i get that over time that the meaning of idioms kind of evolves and morphs. often that is fascinating “raining cats and dogs”

i guess while it’s happening, sometimes i just dont get it

I totally get it. I adore words!
My big kick now is observing how so many exchanges between Americans seem to lean into competitive language and phrasing. Like using a ‘but’ where an ‘and’ would fit better or declaring a better idea to the one offered rather than offering it as a support mechanism.
