The reality of America:

If I say that I have a net worth of $400 million and own a business, people will think that my business must be successful because I’m so rich and thus I must have business skills to make it so.

If I say I’m worth $400 million because I won the lottery last year, then the estimation of my intelligence plummets because (we’re told) only a moron gambles on the lottery.
