I really thought voting for Obama would be the beginning of something special.

I also had this silly notion that even Conservatives could point at Obama and show him as proof of the conservative American Dream that anyone, regardless of race or background, could rise to the highest office in the land if they worked hard enough.

But that would have involved acknowledging his achievements, even if they did so only grudgingly.

That was too much for them. Instead, they insisted he was some kind of Manchurian Candidate Affirmative Action coddled poster child who bought the election by offering Tons of Free Stuff to unemployed parasites who did not deserve to vote.
