re: #234 Scottish Dragon
If you may and this is why I do get frustrated. I hate how Bernie has sold what the American presidency means to young people. And if he ever got to be President, I think two things would happen and none of them appeal to me. One is Bernie would be a complete dud and it would disillusion people and I really don’t want that. Because as I said, I am sympathetic to parts of Sanders agenda. I agree adamantly with him about wealth disparities being a problem and we do need to address tha. Two is him getting the same cult of personality around his presidency that Trump does where everyone left of center has to fall in line and support Bernie or else they have to worry about an angry tweet from his surrogates about them. I want the President and defacto the leader of my party to be a democrat. Someone who welcomes other ideas and perspectives. I could not help but to think about Abe Lincoln’s brilliance when he had the team of rivals and even FDR too. That’s another thing that the Berners who claim they are FDR’s heirs don’t get about FDR, FDR was trying to have a bipartisan consensus especially in intenrational relations.
