I just keep thinking back, when something happens that causes me to want to hyperventilate.

A friend of mine, years ago, when daughter was 10 or 11 and staying up late talking on the phone, gave me some most EXCELLENT advice when I asked her what I should do about it:

“You don’t always have to DO something”.

I try to DO SOMETHING when it’s really big enough to warrant it. Otherwise, I may cringe inside (and pray a lot), but some things are phases she just has to go through.

That is some really good advice and is something I practice with my grandson. My daughter is far too busy doing things with him so I do my best to give him a relaxed environment in which to recover.
