Man I still can’t support Carter, no matter what. His blind defence of William Calley will always be a thorn in my side. Whenever people accuse me of being a partisan hack, I bring this up as evidence that I don’t care about the partisan divide, but right and wrong.

It’s tough because Carter has done some very good things, but unless he renounced his support for a war criminal during his years as governor, I can’t support him.

Which shows Jimmy Carter is human, not a god. Calley made a public apology in 2009.

Perfect is the enemy of good. Carter did one bad thing in a lifetime of good things, so throw him under the bus.
