To me, the biggest difference between W and Trump is W knew he wasn’t the brightest bulb in the box and embraced the idea of Rove being “Bush’s Brain.” Trump is an intellectually incurious narcissist who thinks he knows every thing there is worth knowing.

That is a key difference. Hell I think what bugged me was he was too aware of it sometimes. I remember one time he told the C students of the world they too could be President and it annoyed me given his pedigree. I don’t remember W ever being outright malicious to his opponents but he just had a cluelnessness that often annoyed me. Iraq on the heels of Afghanistan is another example. And he definitely had no problem smearing the critics of the Iraq War through his allies including a lot of the now Trump right wingers who insist they’re against “intervention” which of course bothered me too.
