The American Revolution, the US Civil War, and the Russian Revolution for example were nowhere the mass casualty (like multiple-millions) events that they could have been, because back then 95% of the involved populations were people that lived on or owned farms that they worked on, and got water from a well on or near their property. They didn’t really have to worry about the shipping, transportation, or power distribution infrastructure failing or stores not being open.

In 2021 I’d bet that’s like 1% of the population if that.

And a lot of conservative rural people are convinced they are part of that 1%.
