She would not need to wait for the disposition of the case to obtain an abortion. The law would forbid a person charged with rape from filing for parental rights unless and until acquitted of the charges.

Except that the GOP would block her ability to get an abortion in the first goddamn place because that’s what they do. If she’s pressing charges for rape? Even more so. They’ll throw every legal roadblock possible in her way.

How hard is this to understand?
