I occasionally read the Casper Star-Tribune. They do good work reporting on Wyoming government and the usual conseva-grifting that goes on in the GOP there, as well as occasional reporting about my area.

In retrospect, I should not have left the paper when I did, especially as the next employer turned out to be a nutcase. (Talk about poor career choices.) The CST did a pretty good job of fairly covering the news. We chased down a corrupt energy deal while I was there, teaming up with the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, which earned me a threatening phone call from the boss of the company involved. I also covered a train wreck in Hanna (?) and a murder trial, and ventured on to the Wind River Res, where few reporters had previously visited.

Who’s the Cheyenne bureau chief now? While I was there, it was a woman named Bannon — memory fails me now. She was sharp and had a lot of connections in state government.
