In what passes for the minds of the right, the quite beautiful folk tune Kumbaya has somehow become the very symbol of the godless, America-hating heathen left. In recent references we have heard it most often “cited or alluded to in satirical or cynical ways which suggest false moralizing, hypocrisy, or naively optimistic views of the world and human nature,” as wikipedia puts it.
