A bill that passed the state senate this week would allow the new Republican governor to replace all the regulators.

What the right wing doesn’t seem to understand is that businesses really don’t like it when regulations change nilly willy. If Company A just invested in millions in facility upgrades in order to reduce emissions and comply with regulations, and a new Governor comes in and decides to toss out those regulations and let polluters keep on polluting, then Company A just wasted their capital and now they won’t be able to compete with the other companies that didn’t invest in the upgrades so their prospects for being profitable go down the toilet.

Republicans do not understand this. Its a mantra. Regulations are bad bad bad!
